Medical Receptionist

We are seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist to join our Healthy Heart Clinics of America team. The Medical Receptionist provides front desk support, greets patients, collects payments, answers calls and answers patient questions. Healthy Heart Clinics of America is a primary care clinic that focuses on the management and prevention of chronic conditions. Our mission is to focus on providing top notch individualize care to our patients. An essential part of our clinic is using our Remote Patient Monitoring system as well as our Chronic Care Management system to better serve and treat our patients.


  • Provides superior customer service when welcoming patients and answering phones in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Answers patient questions and provides assistance and directions when necessary.
  • Schedules and confirms patient appointments as well as notifying patients when schedule changes.
  • Organizes schedules for Nurse Practitioners and Ultrasound Technologists.
  • Obtains medical records prior to appointments.
  • Schedules patient labs, outpatient testing, and referrals.
  • Creates new patient accounts in EHR and maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information, as well as updating patient charts as needed.
  • Obtains approval from insurance companies for testing and diagnostic procedures ordered by provider.
  • Collects and posts patient payments.
  • Responsible for keeping reception area clean and organized as well as maintaining forms and office supplies required for front desk operation.
  • Complies with HIPAA regulations.


  • High School Diploma and or GED required.
  • Previous medical clinic and/or healthcare experience required (1 year).
  • Knowledge of EHR/EMR
  • High level of empathy and compassion
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Promotes supportive and positive environment for both staff and patients.
  • Ability to handle fast paced environment and prioritize task based on importance.
  • Computer Skills required.


  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Monday – Thursdays 8-5, Fridays 8-12
  • Hourly Pay based on prior experience
  • Position is in clinic and based out of either Morgan City, Louisiana or Lafayette, Louisiana
