The Software Administrator is responsible for overseeing software projects from start to finish, managing and motivating software developers and other team members, giving customer presentations, and writing project proposals.

To be successful as a software administrator, you should have a good working knowledge of project estimation techniques and the ability to motivate team members. Ultimately, a top-notch software administrator should have good communication and decision-making skills.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provide coaching and mentorship to technical discipline and other staff
  • Maintain expert knowledge on the systems and tools within the scope of the team’s responsibility
  • Manage users, groups, and printers
  • Manage updates and creation of intranet file
  • Manage terminal service clients, install and configure RDP for remote desktop clients
  • Manage new project management software and train employees on how to use and setup projects
  • Render exceptional oversight in managing company hardware and software inventory
  • Manage configuration and connectivity of customer virtual networks through VMware tools
  • Create/Correct SQL queries and store procedures for SQL server database for in house ERP system
  • Install SQL server and setup external hard drive for system server backup
  • Send and receive files and install via FTP for both UNIX TCP/IP and windows systems
  • Maintain department servers (UNIX, Novell, NT) and create accounts for employees
  • Serve as the focal point of contact regarding all applications and services of Linux and UNIX
  • Develop and maintain company’s Intranet

  • Maintain corporate network and information systems on NT and Novell platform
  • Maintain share and individual email folders, with same-day response and action
  • Customize CMS software where require and perform troubleshooting and repair on LAN

Job Duties And Responsibilities

  • Experience with SQL, SQL Server, SAS, Python, JAVA, Agile, and C software and systems
  • Experience in a consulting position
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Fluent in computing and business process analysis
  • Fluent in cloud software and systems
  • Interact with the other IT, product and business groups as needed
  • Contribute to the development of standards, policies, and procedures
  • Manage, validate and schedule periodic and year-end system processes
  • Ability and willingness to learn new skills and abilities
  • Demonstrated observation skills, critical thinking, rational thought process and linear thinking


Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering
